Inner Wisdom

Coaching isn’t about giving advice. It’s about creating space for leaders to tune into their own inner wisdom and discover what’s next. My clients have skills, experience, and resources. What they need is time, space, and a little guidance to find clarity. That’s when their brilliance emerges.

So often, after they land on clarity, they’ll say: “I knew this already, I just had to hear myself say it.”

Here is some wisdom that emerged from clients recently:

“Tell me what you’re looking for. Then we can see what’s possible.”

This phrase arose as a way to invite honesty without offering the moon. It created exactly the space she wanted: for others to share their needs, and for her to respond with what she could reasonably give.

“Start somewhere and experiment.”

Locked in conflict, everyone thought they had the perfect solution. Tension was high, and they kept asking him to settle disputes. Instead, he realized he wanted to challenge them to stop searching for the “perfect” approach and just start with something: try, learn, adjust, iterate.

“People are mad. I’m going to be warm and listen.”

After an unpopular decision, harsh words were flying. Her instinct was to defend the decision, but she realized what mattered more was repairing relationships. So instead, she thanked people for their work and asked them : “given this decision, what do you need now?

Each of these moments was a turning point for someone.

Which ones land for you?

And if you could use a moment of clarity yourself, drop me a line.
