Remember Who You Are.

In a time of deep self-doubt, a wise mentor said:

“You need to remember who you are”

I was drowning in waves of public opinion, second-guessing and uncertainty.

Masking exhaustion and insecurity while maintaining a strong face

So I remembered:

  • I am strong, smart, and skillful.

  • Caring, principled, and thoughtful.

  • Willing to listen, to learn—and to lead through the hard calls.

And I remembered who I’m not:

  • Not here to please everyone.

  • Not like anyone else.

  • Not in a competition.

As one of my clients says:

“I am not here by accident.”

When the noise is loudest I come back to this:

I am exactly who I need to be. My best, most thoughtful response, made with care and the information I have at the time, will be good - and good enough. We’ll all keep growing and learning together from there. What helps you remember who you are when doubt sets in?
